Dorothy M. Lefeber, age 91, of Fond du Lac, formerly of rural St. Cloud "St. Joe", entered into her Heavenly home with her loving family at her side on Sunday, December 23, 2012, at the Villa Loretto Nursing Home in Mount Calvary.
The former Dorothy Hackbarth was born September 26, 1921 in the Town of Lamartine to the late William Sr. & Mary (Beeshcke) Hackbarth.
On October 27, 1951, she married Leander Lefeber at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Joe. The couple farmed on the Lefeber homestead in the St. Joe area their entire married lives.
Dorothy was a member of St. Isidore Parish St. Joseph Church and the Christian Women's Society.
Survivors include her husband, Leander; her five children, Gary (Jane) Lefeber of Eden, David Lefeber and his special friend, Donna LaRue, of Malone, Dennis "Bear" (Mary Jo) Lefeber of St. Peter, Kevin (Janet) Lefeber of St. Cloud, and Lee Ann (Jeff) Gerner of Fond du Lac; 13 grandchildren, Katie (Ryan) Donahue, Dr. Tim Lefeber, Meghan Lefeber, Kevin Lefeber, Becky Lefeber, Jacque Lefeber, Amanda Lefeber, Terri Lefeber, Andy (Carla) Lefeber, Angie Lefeber, Laura Lefeber, Josh Gerner, and Jacob Gerner; two brothers, George Hackbarth of Fond du Lac, and Bill Hackbarth of rural St. Cloud "Armstrong"; her sister, Janet (Dave) Flitter of Campbellsport; her in-laws, Wendell Engels of Van Dyne, Viola Hackbarth of Fond du Lac, Rose Hackbarth of Fond du Lac, Ivan Vorderbruggen of West Bend, Roger Lefeber of Campbellsport, Lucy (Bob) Dassow of Cottage Grove, MN, Agnes Malson of Fond du Lac, and Helen Kornetzke of Kiel.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Gertie Engels, Joyce Lefeber, and Mary Vorderbruggen; and two brothers, Lester Hackbarth and Elmer "Butch" Hackbarth.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at St. Isidore Parish Holy Cross Church, 308 County Road W in Mount Calvary. Rev. Gary Wegner OFM Cap and Rev. Oliver Bambenek OFM Cap will concelebrate. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in St. Joe.
Family and friends may call at the St. Isidore Parish Holy Cross Church in Mount Calvary on Thursday afternoon from 4:00-5:45 PM.
A Memorial Fund will be established in her name.
