Dorothy "Dottie" A. Thielmann
Dorothy "Dottie" A. Thielmann, age 91, of New Holstein formerly of Charlesburg, died peacefully with her family at her side on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at the Willowdale Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in New Holstein.
The former Dorothy Burg was born May 8, 1920 in Fond du Lac to the late William & Frances (Broeckel) Burg. She graduated from St. Charles Grade School in Charlesburg.
On July 5, 1939, she married Glenroy Thielmann at St. Charles Catholic Church in Charlesburg. Dottie helped her husband operate their cheese factory, Charlesburg Cheese Factory, and had gone to work at Kestell Furniture after they discontinued operating their factory.
Family was Dottie's most important priority. She enjoyed spending winters in Florida with her husband. She loved fishing, horses, cooking (especially for her family), gardening, being involved in sports, ice skating, roller skating and many other activities. In addition to being a great cook, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.
Survivors include her husband, Glenroy of New Holstein; six children, Judith Puetz of Charlesburg, Wayne Thielmann of Hollywood, FL, Thomas (Juliane) Thielmann of New Holstein, Peter (Joy) Thielmann of Kiel, Linda (Bill) Pacetti of Orland Park, IL, and Gail (Jim) Diedrich of New Holstein; 22 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Sylvester (Rosa) Burg of Kentucky and Charles Burg of Charlesburg and two sisters-in-law, Collette Ryan of Columbia, SC and Mary Ann Williams of Whittier, CA.
Preceding her in death were her parents, William & Frances Burg; a son-in-law, Jeanold Puetz; four sisters, Loretta (Gilbert) Wettstein, Olive (Ray) Treleven, Viola (Chester) Smith, and Rosella (Emil) Mahlberg and a brother, Robert Burg.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the Sippel Funeral Home, 2618 Altona Avenue New Holstein. Rev. Loren Nys SDS will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Charles Catholic Cemetery in Charlesburg.
Family and friends may call at the Sippel Funeral Home in New Holstein on Saturday morning, March 24th from 9:30 AM until the time of services.
