Dorothy “Dot” Mae Zahn, age 82, of Brillion, passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Brillion West Haven surrounded by her family.
Dorothy was born on September 23, 1936 on the home farm, daughter of the late Steven and Cora (Vander Loop) Wittmann. She was a graduate of Brillion High School, class of 1954. On July 21, 1955, Dorothy married Allan Zahn at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Askeaton. Dorothy and Al farmed for many years, working together and raising their children. When the children were grown, she worked at H & R Block. Dorothy was very artistic, enjoyed many hobbies with her husband Al such as golfing, bowling, waltzing, and playing cards, and had memberships with the Red Hatters, the KP Homemakers for over 50 years, and St. Patrick’s Catholic Church as part of the altar society and as a communion server.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Al; their children, spouses, and families: Debra (Ed) Born and their children, Chad (Rebecca), Curt (Chris), and Trina (Phill) Theile; Duane (Julie) Zahn; Dane (Vicki) Zahn and their daughters, Jodi and Lisa, and Dennis (Diane) Zahn and their family, Skye (Jake) Meyer, Kyle, and Cody Zahn; one brother-in-law and three sisters-in-law: Harlie (Diane) Zahn, Beverly Luedtke, and Betty Zahn; 7 great-grandchildren and one more on the way; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Marvin, sisters, Rita, Arlene, LaVerne, and Gloria, and their spouses, and other relatives.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Askeaton. Officiating will be the Rev. Brian Wideman. Entombment will take place at Knollwood Mausoleum.
Friends may call at the Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
The visitation will continue at church on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
