Obituary

Earl A. Mannenbach, age 88, of New Holstein, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Willowdale Health Services in New Holstein.

He was born June 1, 1935, in Mount Calvary to Frank & Elizabeth (Bleuel) Mannenbach. Earl attended Holy Cross Catholic Grade School and graduated from Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac in 1953.

Earl served in the US Army from December 1, 1954, until November 9, 1956. On June 22, 1957, he married Dorothy Fuhrmann at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg.

Earl worked at the former Tecumseh Engine Products in New Holstein for 40 ½ years until his retirement.

He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein and the Holy Name Society.

Earl & Dorothy travelled to most of the 50 states. He enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles and playing cards with family and friends. In his younger days, he played hardball for Mount Calvary and pitched slow pitch softball in New Holstein. He coached for his two sons when they were younger and faithfully attended his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren's sporting events.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Dorothy; his seven children, Linda (Ron) Willis of Fond du Lac, Carol (Pat) Higgins of West Bend, Sandra (Dean) Winkel of rural Elkhart Lake (St. Anna), Ann (Paul) Meyers of rural Chilton, David (Michelle) Mannenbach of Tucson, AZ, Mary Beth (Scott) Halbach of New Holstein, and Paul (Laura) Mannenbach of rural Elkhart Lake (Kiel); 13 grandchildren, Brian (Megan) Willis, Eric (Amber) Willis, Calvin (Abigail) Winkel, Sara Winkel, Kristin (Joe) Birschbach, Emily (Corey) Hahn, Kari (RJ) Fehling, Kelly Mannenbach, Ashley Mannenbach, Zachary Halbach, Luke Halbach, Ben Mannenbach, and Hallie Mannenbach; six great-grandchildren, Emma, Charlotte, Henry, Nora, Natalie, and Carter, and the seventh greatgrandchild due in September. He is further survived by his three sisters-in-law, Mary (Bob) Feyen of New Holstein, Rosie (Gary) Lakin of Naples, FL, and Audrey Fuhrmann of Sheboygan as well as nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents; father and mother in-law, Ben and Emily Fuhrmann; his sisters, Dorothy (Aloys) Krebsbach, Gladys (Roy) Butz, and Joan (Delmer) Flesch; and his two brothers, Jerome (Lavina) Mannenbach and Francis (Leola) Mannenbach; and a brother-in-law, Merle Fuhrmann.

A Liturgy Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1724 Madison Street, New Holstein, WI 53061. Rev. Alvan Amadi will officiate. Burial will take place in Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery following the Mass with Military Rites conducted by State Military Honors & New Holstein American Legion Post 124.

Visitation: Family and friends may visit with Earl's family at the Sippel Funeral Home, 2618 Altona Avenue, New Holstein, WI 53061, on Friday, July 7, 2023, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be at the funeral home Saturday morning, July 8th from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM.

Earl's family expresses their sincere appreciation to the staff at Willowpark Place, Willowdale Health Services, and the Calumet County Hospice for the wonderful care given to him.
