Edward "Ed" R. Moede, age 66, of New Holstein, passed away at his home on Saturday, February 3, 2024.
He was born February 16, 1957, in Chilton to the late Denver & Ruth Anne (Gierke) Moede. Ed graduated from New Holstein High School in 1975. He received an associate degree in computer science from Moraine Park Technical College.
On April 12, 1980, he married Mary Steiner in Potter. In his early years, Ed worked on the family mink ranch. He eventually went back to technical college and upon graduating, he was hired by Streu Construction Company. Ed finished his working career at A-1 Polishing & Finishing.
Ed was a member of the New Holstein Lions Club and the Masonic Calumet Lodge No 0172; earning the Scottish Rite 32nd Degree within the Masons.
Ed was very fond of music. He sang for weddings, funerals, and Karaoke. Singing was the most favorite thing he enjoyed doing.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; his two children, Michael (Leanne) Moede of Fitchburg and Amanda Moede (fiancé, Andy) of Appleton; two grandchildren, Travis Schmitz and Quinn Moede; his brothers & sisters, Susan (Ken) Wolfe of Seattle, WA, Beverly Moede of Seattle, WA, Barbara Moede (fiancé, Eugene Dvorachek) of Manitowoc, Robert (Christine) Moede of New Holstein, Phillip (Debbie) Moede of Hilbert, and Tom Moede of New Holstein; his brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, Alan (Betty) Steiner of Cascade, Judy (Elmer Jr.) Schisel of New Holstein, Helen (Tom) Schmidlkofer of Chilton, Paul (Sheila) Steiner of River Falls, Linda (Joe) Schad of Chilton, Jane (Jeff) Geiser of Elkhart Lake, Mark (Deb) Steiner of New Holstein, Kathy (John) Steiner of Oshkosh, Tom (Linda) Steiner of Chilton, Clare Welker of Appleton, Lisa (Greg) Ryerson of Deerfield, Joe (Susie) Steiner of Kewaunee, Beth Schilling of Lodi, Amy (Bryan) Rolph of St. Cloud, MN. He is further survived by numerous nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Denver & Ruth Anne Moede; his father-in-law & mother-in-law, Melvin & Caroline Steiner; and a brother-in-law, David Steiner.
A service conducted by the Masonic Calumet Lodge No 0172 will be held at 11:30 AM followed by the funeral service on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at the Sippel Funeral Home, 2618 Altona Avenue, New Holstein, WI 53061.
Visitation: Family and friends may visit with Ed's family at the Sippel Funeral Home on Saturday, February 17th from 8:30 AM until 11:15 AM.
Ed's family expresses their sincere appreciation to the New Holstein First Responders and the New Holstein Police Department for assisting that morning.
