Edward Eddie Svatek, age 93, of Reedsville passed away on Saturday July 24, 2010 at Holy Family Medical Center in Manitowoc. He was born October 26, 1916 in the town of Maple Grove son of the late Emil and Agnes (Vondrachek) Svatek. He married Ann Miller on May 7, 1941 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Brillion. He worked for Standard Oil Co. in Green Bay for many years and served on the Board of Directors of the Standard Credit Union and as Chairman of the Board for 10 years. Eddie was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion. He was also a member of the Beacon Society of Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, the Reedsville Alumni Association and was a charter member of both the North American Fishing Club and the St. Mary/St. Patrick Resurrection Choir. He was a member of the American Legion Post #199 Reedsville, the Manitowoc Senior Citizens Club, the Capital Civic Center, a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, and an honorary member of the Reedsville Sportsmans Club and the Reedsville Fire Department. Eddie is survived by his wife Ann, his children Audrey (Don) Salzbrun of Green Bay, Jeanne (Jim) Einberger of Whitelaw, Inez Schaefer of Phoenix, AZ and Rick Svatek of Parker, CO, 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter Mary Sue Bolle, 5 sisters and 5 brothers. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 28 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion. The Rev. Mathew Simonar will officiate. Burial will take place in St. Mary Cemetery, Reedsville. Friends may call at the church in Brillion on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass.
