Elizabeth M. Hansmann Quackenboss, age 95, of St. Cloud, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, September 25, 2026 at Sharon Richardson Hospice Center in Sheboygan Falls.

Elizabeth was born on February 1, 1931, in the town of Greenbush, daughter of the late Lawrence & Nina (Moynihan) Schockmel. She was a graduate of Plymouth High School, Class of 1948. On May 3, 1952, she married Melvin Hansmann at St. Fridolins Catholic Church in Glenbeulah. He preceded her in death on September 14, 1974. Elizabeth stayed at home and raised their five children until Mel passed. She then worked at Bill’s Market in Glenbeulah until her second marriage. On December 30, 1978, she married Allen Quackenboss at St. Fridolins Catholic Church in Glenbeulah. He preceded her in death on November 19, 2012. She and Al were dairy farmers until their retirement, but she often helped milk the cows even after they sold the farm. She was a proud member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post in Greenbush for many years until they disbanded. She then joined the American Auxiliary Post 243 in Plymouth. Above all else, Elizabeth loved her family and truly enjoyed spending time with them.

Survivors include her children and in-laws: Mary Grace (Gary) Lunde, Joan Vander Sande, Elizabeth (Tyler) Schaefer, Judith (Scott) Steele, and Timothy (Amy) Hansmann; step-children: Karen (Donald) Schmitz, John (Lois) Quackenboss, Paul (Anne) Quackenboss, Lori (Gary) Kraus, and Charles (Chris) Quackenboss; 9 grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 15 step-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Joan Schad; and numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Melvin; her husband, Allen; son-in-law, Alden Vander Sande; granddaughter, Grace Quackenboss; and other relatives.

A Liturgy Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. (NOON) on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at Our Lady of the Holyland Parish – Holy Cross Church, 308 S County Road W, Mount Calvary, WI 53057. Rev. Paul Koenig, OFM Cap will officiate. Burial will take place after the Mass in the St. Thomas Aquinas (St. Fridolins) Catholic Cemetery in Greenbush.

Visitation: Family and friends may visit with Elizabeth’s family at the church in Mount Calvary on Thursday, October 1, 2026 from 8:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. There will be two receiving lines guiding guests.
