Ella A. Luedtke, age 85, formerly of Reedsville, passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at Garrow Villa in Brillion. Ella was born on April 21, 1927 in the town of Rockland, daughter of the late Otto and Esther (Krepline) Bessert. On May 8, 1948, she married Clarence Luedtke at St. John St. James Lutheran Church in Reedsville. The two owned and operated their family farm in the town of Maple Grove until they moved to Reedsville in 1979. Clarence preceded her in death on March 1, 1990. Ella enjoyed canning , cooking, and baking apple pie. She was a member of St. John St. James Lutheran Church in Reedsville. Ella is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law: Audrey (Daniel) Duchow of Reedsville and Lynn Vogel of Kiel; two grandchildren: Bethany (Jesse) Christensen of Mount Prospect, IL and Corey Duchow of Oshkosh; one great-granddaughter: Addison Christensen; one brother: Harry Bessert of Reedsville; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clarence, one son-in-law: Herbert Vogel, one grandson: Brian Welch, two sisters: Adeline and Louise Bessert, four sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law: Rhoda Bessert, Ella (George) Fetzer, Esther (Ted) Behnke, and Verona (Marvin) Kraus, and two nephews and one niece: Randy Kraus, Janet Kraus, and Allen Bessert. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 17, 2012 at St. John St. James Lutheran Church in Reedsville. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Timothy Nommensen. Burial will follow in Westside Cemetery, Reedsville. Friends may call at the church on Monday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Garrow Villa.
