Ellie Marie (Flesch) Gavin, 72, of Johnsburg, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, August 11th, 2024. She was born October 12, 1951, at Holy Angels in Manitowoc. Ellie graduated from St. Mary's Spring High School in 1969. On May 15th, 1971, Ellie married Michael L Gavin at St. John the Baptist Church in Johnsburg.
She loved playing the piano and organ for the churches in the area. Ellie was the Minister of Music for over 50 years at St. John the Baptist Church in Johnsburg. She shared her musical talent by teaching countless students throughout the Holyland and surrounding areas piano and organ. She played music for hundreds of marriage ceremonies and helped ease the passing of others with her beautiful organ music.
Earlier in life, Ellie enjoyed running her own tavern (Ellie's Place, Johnsburg) and bartending at the local Supper Club along with her sons. Ellie was a devoted mother and grandmother, in her spare time she loved watching the Packers, spending time with her family, and playing the occasional Sheepshead games with friends. She was a proud member of St. Johns Prayer and Worship committee, and the Christian Mothers association.
Preceded in death – Elmer and Alice (Thomas) Flesch (Father and Mother), Leonard and Isabella Gavin (Father and Mother – in – Law) Kenneth Flesch (Brother).
She is survived by her husband Michael; two sons, Brian (Katie) and Jason both of Fond du Lac: two grandchildren Jonathon and Stephanie; her brother Randy (Laurence) Flesch of Orsay, France; Sister-in-Laws Judith Flesch, Carol Robbins, Katherine Van Ark, Lillian Weber, Jill Ocasio; Brother-in-law Donald Gavin; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.
A Liturgy Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Our Lady of the Holyland Parish-St. John the Baptist site in Johnsburg (N9288 County Road W, Malone, WI 53049). Rev. Paul Koenig, OFM Cap will officiate.
Visitation: Family and friends may visit with Ellie's family at the Sippel Funeral Home, 1311
Thorp Street, St. Cloud, WI 53079 on Friday, August 16th from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be at the church in Johnsburg Saturday, August 17th from 11:30 AM until 12:30 PM.
