Emil Tienor, age 94, died peacefully Thursday evening April 8, 2010. He was born April 11, 1915 in the Town of Cato in Manitowoc County, son of the late Joseph and Katherine (Knier) Tienor. He graduated from Valders High School in 1933. Emil attended Sheboygan Business College and Manitowoc Business College. He married Florence Gintner on Oct. 16, 1940 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Clarks Mills. Emil and Florence moved to Brillion in 1947. He was employed by the Central Garage in Potter for 48 years. Emil was a member of Holy Family Parish in Brillion, the Holy Name Society and the Catholic Knights. Survivors include his wife Florence, his sons Robert (Ruth) Tienor, Schertz, TX, Richard (Cindy) Tienor, Brookfield, Steve (Maddie) Tienor, Beaver Dam, daughters Patricia (John) Walter, Oconomowoc, Barbara (George) Apostolou, Brookland Park, MN, his grandchildren, Jennifer Madrid, Jeffrey Tienor, Alex Walter, Angela Walter, Anthony Walter, Aris Apostolou and Cassie Apostolou, his great grandchildren Abby, Luke and Mia Madrid, Nicolas, Aaron and Jacob Tienor, Eleanor and Emily Walter. He is further survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Victor Koerner, Louis Gintner, Paul (RoseAnn) Gintner, Joe (Rosie) Gintner, Janet (Al) Braun, Gail (Norbert) Braun and Mary Neil Hillstrom and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a daughter LuAnne Fischer, three brothers Arnold, Joseph Jr. and Leonard Tienor and two sisters Rose Meyer and Marie Koerner. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday April 13, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion. The Rev. Matt Simonar will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Brillion. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service. The Wieting Funeral Home of Brillion is assisting the family with arrangements.
