Erwin Lerche, age 89, of Potter, died on Saturday October 13, 2012 at his home. He was born on March 19, 1923 in Potter, son of the late Edward & Eleanor (Thiel) Lerche. He graduated from Hilbert High School. On August 10, 1951 he married Miriam Zick. Erwin worked at Mirro-Foley Co. in Chilton until his retirement in April of 1985. He liked the family dogs and enjoyed family get togethers. He and Miriam enjoyed their trips with good friends Clark and Irene Radant. Erwin also had his favorite TV shows and he loved to read his Bible, Guideposts and Readers Digest. He was Potters Santa Clause for many years. Erwin was a member of Peace Evangelical and Reformed Church in Potter where he sang in the choir for 50 years, worked in the Sunday School department and served one term on the consistory. He was a former member of the Wedding Band and the Mens Fellowship, and was a retired member of the Potter Volunteer Fire Department. Survivors include his wife Miriam, 4 daughters, Nancy (Arden) Geisler of Wisconsin rapids, Susan (Daniel) Maile of Wrightstown, Lori Lerche and Wendy Lerche both of Potter, a son William (Mary Kay) Lerche of Hilbert, 6 grandchildren, Ellen Geisler, Lisa (Tom) Hora, Jessica (Ryan) Karls, Chad Lerche and fianc Jamie, Maria and Michael Maile, 3 great grandchildren Alex and Addison Karls and Madelyn Hora,2 sisters-in-law Carol Wagner and Lucille Ott, a brother-in-law John Zick and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, Armin, Lester, Wilfred and Laurin. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Peace Evangelical & Reformed Church in Potter. The Rev. Dr. Marc Axelrod will officiate.
