Esther M. Braun, of the Villa Loretto Nursing Home in Mount Calvary formerly of St. Joe, died peacefully, surrounded by her family, Saturday evening, March 19, 2011 at the Villa Loretto. She was born August 19, 1916 in St. Joe to the late Joseph & Clara (Schmitz) Lisowe. On October 2, 1939, she married Oscar Braun at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Joe. Esther helped her husband operate the family farm in the Town of Marshfield near St. Joe. Her husband preceded her in death on December 30, 1992. Esther was a member of St. Isidore Parish St. Joseph Church in St. Joe and its Christian Mother's Society. Survivors include her four children, Carole (Frank) Krupp of Kiel, Bill (Linda) Braun of St. Anna, Sue (Gale) Burg of St. Peter, and Terry (Sue) Braun of Plymouth; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and four sisters-in-law. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; two brothers; and a sister. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at St. Isidore Parish St. Joseph Church W620 County Road G St. Cloud, WI "St. Joe". Rev. Michael Bertram OFM Cap. will officiate. Family burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Sippel Funeral Home 1311 Thorp Street in St. Cloud on Tuesday afternoon, March 22nd from 3:00 – 6:00 PM when brief family rites will be held. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in her name. Esther's greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially playing games and baking for her grandchildren.
