Eugene Gene Buboltz, age 76, of 401 S. Parkway Dr., Brillion died on Friday June 3, 2011 at Theda Clark Regional Medical Center in Neenah. He was born on August 17, 1934 in Hilbert, son of the late Almond & Lauretta (Emmer) Buboltz. On Sept. 7, 1957 he married Janet Kroening in Reedsville. Gene worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 34 years, serving as postmaster in Whitelaw and Brillion. He also worked at T&C Market in Brillion for 19 years and served on the Brillion City Council for 18 years as an alderman for Wards 1 and 3. He was the Executive director of the Brillion Chamber of Commerce for 28 years. Gene had the honor of being named Brillions Citizen of the Year in 2002. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, woodworking, quilting, and meticulously grooming his yard. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Brillion, Brillion Chamber of Commerce, Brillion Jaycees, and the Calumet County Civic Association. Survivors include his wife Janet, his children; Todd (Sue) Buboltz of Appleton and their family Shannon and Andrea, Dan (Terri) Buboltz of Clintonville and their family Megan and Melisa, Mike (Joy) Buboltz of Brillion and their family Morgan, Dylan and Chris, a granddaughter; Eva Buboltz and special friend Ryan Murphy of Stockbridge, 3 brothers; Almond (Helen) Buboltz and Ellie (Audrey) Buboltz all of Brillion, Terry (Marlene) Buboltz of DePere, 2 sisters; Joanne VandeYacht of Wrightstown, and Peggy (Gerry) Sonnabend of Brillion, 3 sisters-in-law; Doris Bergelin of Chilton, Margaret Kroening of Brillion, Loretta Kroening of Manitowoc, and many other relatives and friends. Gene was preceded in death by a son Scott, his parents, a sister Marvis Buboltz, his father-in-law and mother-in-law Hubert & Clara Kroening, 3 brothers-in-law; Harland Kroening, Don Kroening, and Melvin Bergelin. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 7 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 601 E. National Avenue in Brillion. The Reverends Ross Henzi and Jonathan Bourman will officiate. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran cemetery. Friends may call at Trinity Lutheran Church on Monday, June 6 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and then again at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
