Obituary

Eugene F. Lefeber, age 91, formerly of rural St. Cloud "St Joe" passed away Friday, July 17, 2015. He was born November 28, 1923, to Mathias & Elizabeth (Kirsten) Lefeber. On September 22, 1948, he married Virginia Schaefer at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mount Calvary. Virginia preceded him in death on January 9, 2009. Eugene, along with his wife and family operated the family dairy farm in the Town of Marshfield in St. Joe. Eugene was a member of St. Isidore Parish-St. Joseph Church. Survivors include his seven children, Gene (June) Lefeber of Florence, WI, John (Sandy) Lefeber of Marytown, Steve Lefeber of St. Cloud, Gerald (Linda) Lefeber of St. Joe, Ann (Arleigh) Murray of Eden, Joan (Earl) Merten of St. Cloud and Ken (Melissa) Lefeber of St. Joe; 14 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, LaVerne Lefeber of St. Cloud and Mary Schaefer of Mount Calvary and his brother-in-law, James (Mary Ann) Schaefer of Mount Calvary. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, Mathias & Elizabeth Lefeber; a grandson, Dan Lefeber; two brothers, Walter and Elmer Lefeber; two sisters, Martha (Ben) Frank and Stella Thome; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Leona (Lawrence) Engel, Florence (Ray) Ziegelbauer, Marsella Schaefer, Edna (Gilson) Sabel, Clarence (Stella) Schaefer, Francis (Bernice) Schaefer, Cyril Schaefer and Claude (Stella) Schaefer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on Friday, July 24, 2015, at St. Isidore Parish-St. Joseph Church in St. Joe (W620 County Road G St. Cloud, WI 53079). Rev. Gary Wegner, OFM Cap. will officiate. Entombment will be at the Shrine of Rest Chapel Mausoleum at Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery in Fond du Lac. Family and friends may greet the family at the Sippel Funeral Home, 1311 Thorp Street St. Cloud, WI 53079 on Thursday, July 23rd from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. Visitation will also be at the funeral home Friday morning from 9:00am until 10:00am when brief rites will be held.
