Obituary

On Friday, April 12, 2013, Evelyn F. Freund, 84, of Johnsburg, was welcomed into the arms of her granddaughter, Michelle, after passing away at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. The former Evelyn Muellenbach was born June 6, 1928 in Marytown to the late John & Ludwina (Kempf) Muellenbach She attended St. Mary's Catholic Grade School in Marytown. On October 18, 1949, she married Robert S. Freund at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marytown. Evelyn had worked at Blanck's Supper Club in Johnsburg for 30 years. Evelyn was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg and the Altar & Rosary Society. She loved quilting. Many of her quilts were donated to disabled veterans, missions, and to Project Linus. Survivors include her husband, Robert; her four children, Eileen (Joe) Kraus of Malone, Marian (Steve) Critchley of Fond du Lac, Chris (Joe) Pufahl of North Fond du Lac, and Robert G. (Sue) Freund of Sheboygan Falls; her foster daughter, Tina Lueck of Allenton; 13 grandchildren, John, David, Katie, Michael, Matthew, Nicole, Amy, Ryan, Kyle, Johnny, Drew, Ben, and Samantha; seven great-grandchildren with three more on the way; a brother-in-law, Robert Nett of Marytown; and three sisters-in-law, Betty (Marvin) Kraus of Calvary Station, Evelyn Pavlicek of Mountain Home, AR, and Lorraine "Toots" Kern of Kaukauna. Preceding her in death were her parents, John & Ludwina Muellenbach; a granddaughter, Michelle; three sisters, Lorraine (Joe) Schaub, Anita (Herbert) Klapperich, and Leona C. Nett; three brothers, Herbert Muellenbach, Marvin Muellenbach, and James (Jackie) Muellenbach; her in laws, Elfrieda (Edward) Thelen, Melvin (Dorothy) Freund, and Joseph Kern. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6:00 PM on Monday, April 15, 2013, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church N9288 County Road W Fond du Lac "Johnsburg". Rev. Joseph Coerber will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Family and friends may call at the church on Monday, April 15th from 3:30 to 5:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in her name.
