Florence Mae Gruett

Florence Mae Gruett, age 88, of Brillion West Haven, formerly of Potter, died on Tuesday, September 4, 2018.

Florence was born in Green Bay on August 31, 1930, daughter of the late Anna Schmidt. Florence was a nanny for the Elda and Ralph Zutz Sr. family, helping to raise their 10 children. On July 25, 1953, she married Ervin Gruett at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Collins. After her marriage, Florence worked at Mirro Foley in Chilton until her retirement at the age of 70. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Rantoul, the Ladies Aid, the Potter Advancement Assoc. and the Mirro Monthly Breakfast Group.

Survivors include a nephew and niece, Arlyn (Jane) Fuhrmann and their family, Andrew (Susie) Fuhrmann and their children, Katelynn, Kristine and Brandon Fuhrmann, Amy (Tim) Hanson and their family, Libby, Tanner and Landon Hanson, Audra (Shawn) Neuman and their family, Aidan, Adeline and Ashlin Neuman, the entire Ralph Zutz Sr. family,  special friends, Marilyn Stache and Mariann Buechel, Jeff (Vermain) Zutz and their children, Justin and Jade Zutz, Tenniel (Patrick) O’Reily, Tatum (Andrew) Stecker, her brother-in-law, Marvin (Nola) Gruett, her God children, Daryle Zutz, Tatum (Zutz) Stecker, Pam (Klat) Patten as well as many other relatives and friends. Florence was preceded in death by her husband Ervin in 1993, her fiancé, Jim Fischer in 2000, her mother and step father Anna (August) Brault, her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Frieda (Otto) Gruett, sisters and brothers-in-law, Adeline (Erich) Fuhrmann, Erna (Ed) Evenson, Loretta (Roland) Behnke and nieces, Marlene Tews and Karen Janske.

Funeral services for Florence will be held on Monday, September 10 at 4:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rantoul. The Rev. Patrick Niles will officiate. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will take place at the church on Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.
