Frances Margaret Bord, 80, died December 19, 2011 at the Villa Loretto Nursing Home, where she had been a resident since November 18, 2011. She died peacefully with her husband and children by her side, following complications of open heart surgery. Frances was born November 7, 1931 to Margaret and Joseph Schmitz of Johnsburg. She was the youngest of 5 children. On August 18, 1953 she married Arlyn Bord in Johnsburg. They lived and farmed in Mt. Calvary until moving to Fond du Lac 23 years ago. Frances and Arlyn loved to do many things together; bowling, card playing, traveling, and spending time with their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Frances worked on the farm with Arlyn. Also, she cleaned houses for several Fond du Lac families as well as for Petrie Restaurant for years. She spent many hours crocheting and gardening. She was a member of Abler-Engel Post 454 American Legion Auxiliary. Frances was also a member of Holy Family Christian Women, St. Anne Society, and North Fond du Lac Senior Center. Frances is survived by her husband, Arlyn; her daughters, Mary (Joe) Buechel of St. Peter, LuAnn (Joe) Meyer of Johnsburg; her sons Joe (Mary) Bord, John (Jeanne) Bord, Jeff (Kathy) Bord all of Mt. Calvary, Jerome (Linda) Bord of Johnsburg, Jean Bord and Doug Pire of Oshkosh. Her grandchildren, Jason Buechel, Jenny & Mark Hetzel, Nicholas Buechel and Kavita Naik, Daniel Buechel & Megan Buechel, Michelle & Scott Schimmel, Kelly Bord & her fiancé' Jason Ferguson, Jackie & Derek Moran, Denise Bord, Sarah Bord, Stacy & Christopher Bord, Scott & Denise Meyer, Kimberly Meyer, Jake Bord & Jeremy Bord. Also, her great grandchildren, Brayden & Madelyn Schimmel, Garret & Ethan Hetzel, and Aaron Meyer; sister in-law RoseMary Schmitz. Also, brother in-law and sister in-law, Gerald & Nina Bord. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Margaret & Joseph Schmitz; her brother, sisters and brothers in-law, Leona & Alex Schmitz, Lorraine & Gregor Pickart, John Schmitz, Esther & Regis Sippel, and her father-in-law & mother-in-law, Ambrose & Helen Bord. A Memorial Mass will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Holy Family Parish Church, 271 Fourth Street Way Fond du Lac, WI. Inurnment will be at Ledgeview Mausoleum. Family and friends may call at the Church on Thursday from 3:00PM-6:30PM on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in her name.
