Frances M. Schoenborn, age 95, of Johnsburg, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Friday, October 17, 2014, at Oak Creek Assisted Living in Kiel.
The former Frances Andrew was born May 18, 1919, in Johnsburg to the late John & Mary (Guelig) Andrew.
She attended St. John the Baptist Catholic Grade School in Johnsburg.
On September 24, 1940, she married Ferdinand "Ferdy" Schoenborn at St. John the Baptist Church in Johnsburg, WI, where she remained a lifetime member of the church.
In addition to being a member of St. John the Baptist Church, she was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society and the "We Love to Dance Club".
Frances was a homemaker & Ferdy's right hand person on the dairy farm they operated outside of Johnsburg. She was known for her great cooking & baking, especially her "lady fingers" which was a family favorite.
She enjoyed picking & cracking hickory nuts, working on word puzzles, reading, and playing cards. Above all, her Christian Faith was the absolute most important part of her life. Daily rituals of prayers & praying the Rosary was on the top of her list of important daily activities.
She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her children, Joan Gerhartz of Marytown, Jim Schoenborn (special friend, Nancy) of Johnsburg, and Patti (Earl) Kinjerski of DePere; her eight grandchildren, Diane Gerhartz (Fiancé, Steve) of Chilton, Mike Gerhartz (Fiancée, Denise) of New Holstein, Kay (Joe) Guelig of St. Joe, Stacy Schoenborn (Fiancé, Brian) of Johnsburg, Vicki (Brian) Meyer of Kiel, Lisa (Weyland) Fong of San Jose, CA, Jolene (Jason) Meyer of Johnsburg, and Jamie Schoenborn (special friend, Ayham) of Appleton; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Steven; a son-in-law, Romie Gerhartz; a daughter-in-law, Joan (Achter) Schoenborn; her brothers, Edwin (Veronica) Andrew, Hubert Andrew, Raymond (Alma) (Leona) Andrew, Michael (Ethel) Andrew, and Ambrose (Marie) (Bev) Andrew; her sisters, Esther (Ambrose) Schmitz, Linda (Ben) Fuhrmann, Emily (Ben) Fuhrmann, and Ann (Henry Hencke) (Ambrose) Freund; her in-laws, Oscar (Edna) Schoenborn and Herbert (Valeria) Schoenborn.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg, N9288 County Road W Fond du Lac, WI 54937. Rev. Joseph Coerber will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation: Family and friends may call at the Sippel Funeral Home in New Holstein, 2618 Altona Avenue New Holstein, WI 53061 on Monday, Ocotber 20th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and at the church in Johnsburg Tuesday morning from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM.
A prayer service will be held at the funeral home Monday evening at 7:00 PM.
