Frank G. Bartell, of Kiel, WI, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on April 4, 2026, at the age of 86.
He was born May 28, 1939, in St. Cloud, to Earl & Alice (Wick) Bartell.
Frank is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Marlene, of 64 years; they were married April 29, 1961, at St. Cloud Catholic Church. He was a proud father of three children, Don (Lynn) Bartell, Connie Spalla, and Tammy (Dean) Konen; six grandchildren, Corey (Savannah) Bartell, Adam (Marinella) Bartell, Heather (Ivan) Berber; Austin Spalla, Mariah (Eric) Schmitz, and Grant Konen (fiancée, Makenna Mooney); six great-grandchildren, Warren, Adanella, Maddox, Macallan, Mallory, and Marley; and two step great-grandchildren, Sonny and Mikey. His sisters-in-law, Karen Krug and Tess (Ron) Butz. He is further survived by nieces; nephews; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl & Alice Bartell; his father-in-law & mother-in-law, Rosie & Gregory "Frickie" Klinzing, brothers-in-law, Ed (Kay) Klinzing, Robert Klinzing, and Jeff Krug; and sister-in-law, Eileen Klinzing.
Frank had worked at Lake to Lake in Kiel, Tecumseh Engine Products in New Holstein, New Holstein School District, and Good Shepherd Parish in Chilton.
Frank enjoyed spending time with family & friends. Watching Brewers, Packers, Badgers, pro golf, and keeping an eye on the weather. He also enjoyed traveling to Florida and Arizona, coaching sports, playing golf, gardening, and tending to his gorgeous yard and beautiful flower beds. He was well known to have the cleanest car in the county.
A Liturgy Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Our Lady of the Holyland Parish-St. Cloud Site, 924 Main Street, St. Cloud, WI 53079.
Visitation: Family and friends may visit with Frank's family at the church in St. Cloud on Friday, April 10th from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donation be made to Compassus Hospice; Compassus Living Foundation (compassuslivingfoundation.org).
Frank's family expresses their sincere appreciation to Fr. Carl Diederichs and Joe Zenk along with the Compassus Hospice staff, Julie, Nicole, and Megan.
