Francis "Frank" M. Hartman, age 86, formerly of New Holstein, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014, at the St. Paul Home in Kaukauna where he resided for the past four years.
He was born September 29, 1927, to the late Edward Sr. & Elizabeth (Dorn) Hartmann.
Frank attended New Holstein High School and UW-Madison in their Agriculture Program. On May 5, 1971, he married Loretta Bastian. Loretta preceded him in death earlier this year on February 4, 2014.
Frank was one of the founding fathers of the Abbey of the Genesee in Piffard, NY which is close to Rochester. He had farmed in the New Holstein area and also worked at Stell's in New Holstein for a few years.
Survivors include his son, Dan (Liz) Hartmann of Appleton; his sisters and brothers, Sr. Mary Edward of Clyde, Missouri, Al (Pat) Hartmann of Kiel, Fred (Gladys) Hartmann of Plymouth, Adam (Anita) Hartmann of Menomonee Falls, Sr. Therese of Green Bay, Ann (Gervase) Meyers of Chilton, and Hugo (Delores) Hartmann of Kiel; his sister-in-law, Mutzie Hartmann of New Holstein; numerous nieces; nephews; great-nieces; great-nephews; cousins; other relatives; and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Edward Sr. & Elizabeth Hartmann; his wife, Loretta; five siblings, Herman Hartmann, Sr. Mary Monica, George Hartmann, Sr. Mary John, and Ed Hartmann; his sister-in-law, Patricia Hartmann; and a niece.
Funeral Services will be held at 5:00 PM on Saturday, June 14, 2014, at the Sippel Funeral Home 2618 Altona Avenue New Holstein, WI 53061. Burial will be in the St. Anna Catholic Cemetery.
Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday June 14th from 4:00 PM until the time of services.
