Frederick Fritz Fred E. Landmann, age 92, of Brillion, died Monday, March 14, 2011 at Westhaven Assisted Living, Brillion. Fred was born on December 5, 1918 in Brillion, son of the late Emil and Freida (Ueffinger) Landmann. He graduated from Brillion High School, class of 1936. On September 18, 1941, Fred married Lila Muehl in Seymour, WI. She preceded him in death on October 1, 2001. He worked at the Brillion Iron Works for 45 years, retiring in 1981. Fred was a member of the American Foundry Society, the Masons, Faith United Methodist Church in Brillion, the Brillion Historical Society, the Brillion Nature Center, and the Brillion Conservation Club. He also served his community at various times as Lay Leader of the United Methodist Church, the secretary of the Brillion Conservation Club, a member of the Brillion Zoning Board of Review, a member of the Brillion City Band, and was a Brillion city councilman. Fred enjoyed the outdoors, especially bird watching, fishing, hunting animals, and later photographing those same animals, and spending time with his family. Fred is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Anthony and Carol Landmann, Wildwood, IL; his daughter and son-in-law: Cheryl and Pat Sheehan, Brillion; five grandchildren: Andrew (Kelly) Landmann, Kimberly (Sergio) Castaneda-Ballard, Rebecca Landmann, Jennifer Landmann, and Wayne Sheehan; one great-grandson: Nathan Landmann; and one sister and brother-in-law: Louise and Stanley Heimke, Brillion. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Lila; and his brother and sister-in-law: Bill and Pearle Landmann; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Walter and Nila Muehl, and his nephew: Dennis Muehl. Funeral Service for Fred will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 21, 2011 at Faith United Methodist Church, Brillion. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Susan Safford-Gaul. Entombment to follow at Highland Mausoleum, Appleton.
