Genevieve C. Abler, age 98, of Fond du Lac, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021, at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home. She was born September 28, 1922, to Mathias N. Abler & Anna B. (Bleuel) Abler; she was the second youngest of 12 children. Genevieve graduated from Holy Cross Catholic Grade School. She obtained her GED Certification at age 65. Her first job was delivering Western Union Telegrams with her bicycle in Fond du Lac. She worked for many years at Infant Socks Co. in Fond du Lac and Wright Bros. Paper Box Factory in Fond du Lac until her retirement. Genny loved crafting of any kind and painting. She volunteered at St. Agnes Hospital Gift Shop making craft items. She loved music and was a member of the "Linettes" Dance Group at the Fond du Lac Senior Center. She also enjoyed playing cards, games, and doing jigsaw puzzles. Genny is survived by Nieces; Nephews; Great Nieces & Nephews; Great-Great Nieces & Nephews; Great-Great-Great Nieces & Nephews; other family members; and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, Mathias N. & Anna B. (Bleuel) Abler; her sisters, Lucy (Ernest) Mertens, Cordula (Edmund) Wagner, Camilla (Alex) Casper, and Patricia Abler; her brothers, Norman Abler, Herbert Abler, Ambrose (Lucille) Abler, Harold (Esther) Abler, Alex M. Abler, Ralph (Germaine) Abler, and Lawrence Abler. A Liturgy Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 24, 2021, at Our Lady of the Holyland Parish-Holy Cross Church, 308 S. County Road W, Mt. Calvary, WI 53057. Rev. Randy Knauf, OFM Cap will officiate. Genny will be laid to rest in the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery following the Mass. Visitation: Family and friends may visit with Genny's family at the church in Mt. Calvary on Friday, September 24th from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM. In Lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in her name.
