Obituary

George K. Pautz, age 86, of New Holstein, passed away Monday, July 1, 2019, with his family at his side. He was born April 3, 1933, in Manitowoc to George A. & Arline (Meyer) Pautz. George graduated from Lincoln High School in Manitowoc in 1951. He attended Manitowoc County Normal and UW-Whitewater where he received his bachelor's degree in education. On July 25, 1953, he married Carol Schroeder; she preceded him in death on November 15, 1992. On May 27, 1995, he married Rita (Augustine) Gleichner. George taught elementary school in the New Holstein School District for 29 years; prior to that he taught in the Wauksha County area for nine years. George was a member of St. Peter United Church of Christ in Kiel and the former Retired Teacher's Association. He was a very talented musician. He played with Stecky's Trio and entertained on his own for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman; he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping at Firefly Lake. George is survived by his wife, Rita; his three children, Steven (Mary Beth) Pautz of North Fond du Lac, Gail Pautz of Kiel, and Robert Pautz (fiancé, Brenda) of Valders; his four step-children, Tim Gleichner of Appleton, John Gleichner of Valders, Scott (Annette) Gleichner of Two Rivers, and Paul (Laura) Gleichner of Reedsville; his grandson, Scott (Miranda) Pautz; his 11 step-grandchildren, Jennifer, Benjamin, Andrew, Grace, Ella, Connor, Garrett, Hannah, Alex, Erich, and Madeline Gleichner; two great-grandchildren, Keegan & Nataleigh Pautz; his two step-great-grandchildren, Rose Benzinger & Aaron Gleichner; his four brothers-in-law, Jerry (Mary) Augustine, Chuck (Sandy) Augustine, Eugene (Janet) Augustine, Mike (Karen) Augustine, and Richard Neumeyer. He is further survived by many nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife, Carol; sisters-in-law; and brothers-in-law. Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 PM on Monday, July 8, 2019, at the Sippel Funeral Home, 2618 Altona Avenue, New Holstein, WI 53061. Deacon Paul Gleichner will preside. George will be laid to rest next to his first wife, Carol, in the Countryview Cemetery. Visitation: Family and friends may call at the Sippel Funeral Home on Monday, July 8th from 2:00 PM until 3:45 PM.
