George Struebing

George Henry Struebing, age 71, of Brillion, passed away on October 29, 2013 after a brief stay at Willow Dale Nursing Home in New Holstein. George was born on January 5, 1942 in Green Bay, son of the late Wilmer and Henrietta (Vopel) Struebing. He graduated from Brillion High School, class of 1960. After graduation, George served our country in the United States Marine Corps in Korea. He was employed at the Iron Works, Ariens Co., and WH Struebing and Sons. George participated in many sports throughout his lifetime and particularly enjoyed bowling and was a great pool shooter. He was an avid sports fan and loved Nascar. He especially enjoyed hearing about his grandchildren and sharing special occasions with family and friends. George is survived by his children: Christa (Clark) Williams of Van Dyne, Angela Florea of Fort Collins, CO, and Robert (Maria) Struebing of Appleton; grandchildren: Courtney and Cassidy Williams, Dillon Seidel, Mason Florea, and Justin Struebing; one sister and brother-in-law: Mary Lee (Robert) Hoffman of Oshkosh and one brother, James Struebing of Brillion; mother of his children: Mary Draheim; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by son-in-law: Justin Florea, one brother: Bill Struebing, and one sister-in-law: Diane Struebing. Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at the Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Jean Schmidt. Burial will follow in the Old Town Cemetery, town of Brillion. Military Honors will be accorded by the American Legion Post 126 of Brillion. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, November 2, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and again on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m. Online condolences may be made at www.wieting-funeralhome.com
