Gerald J. Dvorachek, age 72, of New Holstein, passed away from esophagus cancer on Monday, March 14, 2022, at Aurora Sheboygan Medical Center.
Jerry was born April 21, 1949, in Manitowoc to Anthony & Dorothy (Roberts) Dvorachek of Reedsville. Jerry grew up in Reedsville. He graduated from Reedsville High School with the class of "67". Jerry also graduated from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Green Bay and Wisconsin School of Electronics in Madison, Wisconsin.
On May 7, 1971, he married Irene Slager at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kellnersville.
Jerry was employed at the former Tecumseh Engine Products Company in New Holstein for 36 years where he worked with electrical components and test equipment. In the 1980's, Jerry transferred from the quality control department to the manufacturing engineering department where he worked as an electrical engineer.
Jerry also worked part time at New Holstein True Value Hardware for 11 years in the rental department. After retiring from Tecumseh, Jerry was employed at the Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake where he worked in the facilities department for 13 years.
Jerry enjoyed skiing, traveling, camping, swimming, and hiking with his children and grandchildren.
He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein.
Survivors include his wife, Irene; his two children, Cindy (Pat) Rowland of Chilton and Kevin (Boni) Dvorachek of Kaukauna; three grandsons, Hunter & Connor Rowland and Colten Dvorachek; his brothers & sisters, Jim (Mary) Dvorachek of Manitowoc, Karen (Duane) Seipel of Appleton, Larry (Debbie) Dvorachek of Whitelaw, Al Dvorachek of the UP, Michigan, and Jeni (Ray) Decker of Manitowoc; his mother-in-law, Ida Slager of Manitowoc; his sister-in-law, Carol (Paul) Schwahn of Menchalville. He is further survived by nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his father-in-law, Robert Slager; and his brother-in-law, Russell Slager.
A Liturgy Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1724 Madison Street, New Holstein, WI 53061.
Visitation: Family and friends may visit with Jerry's family at the Holy Rosary Church on Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 9-10:45 AM.
