Gerald A.
Koenigs
Mar 3, 1942 — Apr 20, 2023
On April 20, 2023, my husband and best friend walked through the gates of Heaven and asked St. Peter, ''How you doing''?
Jerry was born on March 3, 1942 to Michael & Matilda (Karl) Koenigs. After graduating from Goodrich High School in 1960, he started his 40-year career at Tecumseh Engine Products in New Holstein.
From 1964 to 1966, he served his country in the US Army; during that time he served in the Vietnam Conflict. Upon returning, he met and married the love of his life, Ann Morgen. They spent 55 years together and raised three sons. He so enjoyed attending their sporting events and working on their many cars. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Gerald was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein, the Knights of Columbus, and the New Holstein American Legion. In 2017, he had the honor of joining other veterans on the Old Glory Honor Flight to Washington DC.
He is survived by his wife Ann; sons, Bernie (Anne), Brian (Kay), and Aaron (DeeDee); grandchildren, Chris (Kamille), Ciara, Alex, Brody, Samantha, Leo, and Ashton; great-grandchildren, Bryson, Easton, and Hayden. He is also survived by his brothers, Bob (Aileen), Pete, Steve (Linda), and Dale (Cheryl); his sisters, Mary (Ed) Lefeber, Carol McCrory, Gen (Bill) Kuhn, Phylis (Joe) Simon, and Sandy Halbach; brothers-in-law, Joe Morgen and John (Annette) Morgen; sister-in-law, Helen Adema; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.
Preceding Jerry in death were his parents; his father-in-law & mother-in-law, Louis & Bertha Morgen; his brother, Bill; brothers-in-law, Bernard Morgen and John Adema; sisters-in-law, Pat Koenigs and Mary Morgen; nephews, Neal Koenigs, Cliff Adema, and Eric Koenigs; and a niece, Denise Kryzanowski.
A Liturgy Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 28, 2023, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1724 Madison Street, New Holstein, WI 53061. Rev. Alvan Amadi will officiate with Deacon Pat Knier assisting.
