Glenroy P. Thielmann, age 94, of New Holstein formerly of Charlesburg, died Sunday morning, July 1, 2012 at the Willowdale Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in New Holstein.
He was born May 23, 1918 in School Hill in Manitowoc County to the late Jacob & Josephine (Greuel) Thielmann.
He attended St. Charles Grade School in Charlesburg and graduated from Chilton High School in 1936.
On July 5, 1939, Glenroy married Dorothy "Dottie" A. Burg at St. Charles Catholic Church in Charlesburg. Dottie preceded him in death earlier this year on March 20, 2012.
Glenroy and his wife owned and operated the Charlesburg Cheese Factory. He enjoyed spending winters in Florida with Dottie. Glenroy loved baseball and fishing but most of all loved his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Glenroy had a wonderful sense of humor which showed when he told a joke to those he interacted with.
Survivors include his six children, Judith Puetz of Charlesburg, Wayne Thielmann of Holywood, FL, Thomas (Juliane) Thielmann of New Holstein, Peter (Joy) Thielmann of Kiel, Linda (Bill) Pacetti of Orland Park, IL, and Gail (Jim) Diedrich of New Holstein, 22 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; his sister, Collette T. Ryan of Columbia, SC; and his sister-in-law, Mary Ann Williams of Whittier, CA.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Dottie; a son-in-law, Jeanold Puetz; a brother, Vernon Thielmann; and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Funeral Services will be held at 4:30 PM on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at the Sippel Funeral Home 2618 Altona Ave. in New Holstein. Rev. Loren Nys SDS will officiate. A privated burial will be held in the St. Charles Catholic Cemetery in Charlesburg.
Family and friends may call at the Sippel Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 3rd from 1:00 PM until the time of services.
