Gloria C. Sattler, age 91, New Holstein, formerly of Calumetville, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 19, 2017, at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac. The former Gloria Manderscheid was born September 20, 1925, to the late Raymond A. & Alma (Doern) Manderscheid. Gloria attended school in Garnet and graduated from Chilton High School in 1943. On May 4, 1946, she married Howard Sattler at St. Paul's United Church of Christ (UCC) in Malone. Gloria along with her husband and family farmed in the Town of Calumet near Calumetville until retiring. Gloria was a life-long member of St. Paul's UCC, a charter member of the Calumet Homemakers, a long time 4-H club leader, Sunday school teacher and superintendent at St. Paul's UCC. Her primary role and enjoyment was caring for and supporting her family. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and playing Trivial Pursuit. Gloria and Howard traveled throughout the country. Together, they enjoyed going to their children's and grandchildren's events. Gloria is survived by her husband, Howard; 10 children, Oran (Betty) Sattler of Malone, Dwight (Mary) Sattler of Malone, Catherine (Tim) Barr of Nekoosa, WI, Lorene (Joe) Baltz of Kronenwetter, WI, Linda (Stanley) Huikko of Cottage Grove, MN, Lyle (Mary) Sattler of Chilton, Paul (Kathy) Sattler of Mishicot, Kristine (Dennis) Fincher of Bryant, WI, David (JoDee) of Hartland, WI, and Charles (Barbara) Sattler of Marysville, OH. She is further survived by 25 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; her sister, Ardis Swensen of Dunwoody, GA; and her brother-in-law, Donald (Diane) Sattler of Chilton. Preceding her in death were her parents; a brother, Raymond H. Manderscheid; a daughter-in-law, Virginia Sattler; and a son-in-law, Arnold Freidig. Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, N10362 St. Paul Road, Malone, WI 53049. Rev. Daniel Schultz will officiate. Gloria will be laid to rest in St. Paul's Cemetery at a later date. Visitation: Family and friends may greet the family at the church Saturday morning, February 4th, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM.
