Harry R. Bessert, Sr. age 84, of Reedsville, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2016 at his residence, surrounded by his family.

Harry was born on April 6, 1932 on the home farm in town of Rockland, son of the late Otto and Esther (Krepline) Bessert.  He married Rhoda Lueloff on October 4, 1958 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Collins.  She preceded him in death.  Harry and Rhoda owned and operated their own dairy farm, and even though Harry was retired, he still enjoyed helping out and working with his son and grandsons.  He also enjoyed fishing with friends and family in his younger years, trips to the equity, and spending time with family.

He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Harry and Judy Bessert, Jr. of Reedsville; two grandsons: Jason (fiance’ Breana Cleven) and Jeremy all of Reedsville; one sister-in-law: Sandy Wesener of Reedsville; nieces: Kim Wesener, Kelly Wesener Michael, Audrey (Dan) Duchow, and Lynn Vogel; other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Rhoda, one son: Allan, his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Edwin and Ruth (Manhake) Lueloff, and three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Louise, Adaline, Ella (Clarence) Luedke, and Walter Wesener.

Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Brillion.  Officiating at the service will be Rev. Ross Henzi.  Burial will be in Trinity Ev. Lutheran Cemetery, Brillion.

Friends may call at the church on Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
