Obituary

Harvey M. Horn, age 88, of rural St. Cloud, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at the Homestead Care Center in New Holstein where he resided for the past six weeks.

He was born July 10, 1936, to John & Anna (Steffen) Horn. Harvey attended St. Joseph Catholic Grade School in rural St. Cloud and graduated from New Holstein High School in 1954.

Harvey served in the Army National Guard; being activated twice during his deployment. In 1967, he formed a partnership and purchased the family farm with his brother, David, which was named "Horn Brothers". The farm was sold to his nephew, Gordy, in 1997. Harvey & David continued to work with Horn's Custom Heifers until they could no longer help.

Harvey was a member of Our Lady of the Holyland Parish-St. Joseph site. He enjoyed bowling in the league in Mount Calvary for A&B's of St. Joe, attending and watching the Green Bay Packers games, fishing in Canada as well as on the Sheboygan River, traveling up "North" with his good friends, Gene Burg & Sylvin Steffes, and deer hunting with the St. Joe crew. He also enjoyed getting together at family gatherings.

Survivors include his nephews and his nieces, Andy Horn (special friend, Lori Hess) of St. Cloud, Gordy (Kathy) Horn of St. Cloud, Phyllis "Tootie" (Jim) Koehler of Marytown, Lynn Baus of Fond du Lac, Brian Baus of Plymouth; his brother-in-law, Carl Walsh of Fond du Lac. He is further survived by great nieces & great nephews and great-great nieces and great-great nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, John & Anna Horn; his brother, David and Ludwina "Peggy" Horn; his sister, Verna Mae Walsh; a brother-in-law, Leo Baus; niece, Roseann Horn; and a great niece.

A Liturgy Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Our Lady of the Holyland Parish-St. Joseph site, W620 County Road G, St. Cloud, WI 53079. Rev. Larry Abler, OFM Cap will officiate. Burial will take place in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at 10:00 Wednesday morning, August 28th. Military Rites will be conducted at the church following the Mass Tuesday.

Visitation: Family and friends may visit with Harvey's family at the Sippel Funeral Home, 1311 Thorp Street, St. Cloud, WI 53079 on Tuesday, August 27th from 2:00 PM until 5:30 PM.
