Hazel M. Jencks, age 70, a resident of Whitelaw, passed away unexpectedly Friday morning, March 25, 2022.
Hazel was born on July 14, 1951 in Milwaukee, daughter of the late Walter and Arlene (Thompson) Kanter. She was a graduate of Chilton High School. On August 12, 1972 she married James “Jim” Jencks at St. John-St. James Lutheran Church in Reedsville. Hazel worked at Commercial Bank in Chilton for over 40 years and was a member of the Ladies of the Blue Knights. She was a fan of Elvis and enjoyed reading and crafting. Hazel loved spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband: Jim Jencks, Whitelaw; her son: Jeremy Jencks, Whitelaw; her daughter: Kristen (Derek) Novak, Manitowoc; two granddaughters: Ella and Olivia Novak, Manitowoc; two brothers: Arthur (Pat) Kanter, Sun Prairie, Wally Kanter, Milwaukee; one step-brother: Clifford (Mary) Krielkamp, Hilbert; two step-sisters: Dawn Krielkamp, Theresa, Lillian Sanders, Theresa; one sister-in-law: Valerie Plantz; and her loving dog and companion: Riggs. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter: Michelle Jencks; one sister: Bertina (Virgil) Hansen; one step-brother: Edward Plantz; and one sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Virginia (Wayland) McKenna.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at the Pielhop Wieting Funeral Home of Brillion. The family will greet relatives and friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m.
