Helen Louise Bohman

January 11, 1928 — April 25, 2023

We sadly share the death of our beloved sister and aunt, Helen Bohman. She passed peacefully the evening of Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at Brillion West Haven. Helen was born on January 11, 1928, to Frank and Eleanor (Kiefer) Bohman. This day was also her father’s birthday; he often said she was the best birthday gift he had ever received. Helen was raised on the family farm near Brillion. She graduated from Brillion High School in 1946 and UW Whitewater in 1961. She received a teaching scholarship from Indiana University at Bloomington, earning a Master’s Degree in Education three years later. She taught business education at Monona Grove High School and later at Lakeshore Technical College. After retirement in 1987, she taught music theory and piano from her home in Brillion. She encouraged her piano students to perform publicly, arranging annual recitals and community concerts for over 25 years. Helen traveled extensively, touring 48 of our 50 states and the Canadian provinces. She visited more than 20 countries. Including Australia, Denmark, England, Germany, Greece, Ireland, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, and Sweden. She was an active, life-long member of Holy Family Parish in Brillion; also, a member of Catholic Knights, Wisconsin education Association Council; and multiple national, state, and regional music teachers’ associations. She will be missed by her sisters, brothers, and a cousin who is like a brother: Dolores Krueger, Rita Pardee, Lawrence (Marcella) Bohman, Clarence (Beverly) Bohman, and Edward (Ruth) Kiefer. Helen’s fifteen nieces and nephews will also miss her; they and their families brought her much joy. Her nieces and nephews are: Peggy Maynard, Tom Krueger, Mike Krueger, Susan Moran, Nancy Tompkins, Linda Drewa, Mary Pardee, Greg Bohman, Paul Bohman, Lynn Zink, Lori Schmitz, Faye Kohlbeck, Dean Bohman, Andrew Bohman, and Beth Jacobson. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; an infant niece, grandnephew Cody Bohman, and brothers-in-law Merlin Krueger and Robert Pardee. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Brillion. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Tom Pomeroy and Deacon Greg Van Thiel with burial at Holy Family Cemetery, Brillion, at a later date. The family will greet relatives and friends at Holy Family Catholic Church, Brillion, from 9:00 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2023 until 10:45 a.m. Online condolences may be made. Aunt Helen, we cherish you and the time you spent with us. Your quiet dedication to learning, teaching, family, and faith has been a powerful example of life lived with purpose. The Lord will surely welcome you with an emphatic, “Well done, good and faithful servant!” The Pielhop Wieting Funeral Homes of Brillion & Reedsville are assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
