Obituary

Henry L. "Hank" Schneider, age 94, of St. Cloud, WI, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at the home in which he was born and raised with his loving family at his side.

He was born August 23, 1932, on the family homestead in the Town of Forest South of St. Cloud to John J. & Nora (Rausch) Schneider.

Hank attended St. Cloud Catholic Grade School. Hank farmed in the Town of Forest until retiring in 1999. After retiring, he worked driving tractor for Schwind Trucking.

On September 1, 1956, he married Henrietta Ophoven at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fond du Lac. Henrietta preceded him in death on March 9, 2015.

He served in the Army from April 22, 1953, until April 6, 1955, serving in Germany after the end of the Korean War.

Hank was a member of Our Lady of the Holyland Parish-St. Cloud Site, the St. Cloud American Legion Post 478 in St. Cloud. He served in various roles of the American Legion; serving as post commander, Fond du Lac County post commander.

Those left to cherish his memory include his three children, Daniel (Kelly) Schneider of Racine, Mike (Sandy) Schneider of rural St. Cloud, and Barb Schneider (Tim Bowen) of Campbellsport; eight grandchildren, Patrik Schneider (Freda), Abigail (Josh) Bowles. Tyler Schneider (Sydney), Seth Schneider, Jenny (Craig) Schmitz, Crystin Immel, Rebecca Immel (Dylan) and Tanner Bowen; seven great-grandchildren, Rose, Evelyn, Elijah, Isaiah, Mason, Olivia, and Maverick; his sister, Mary Ann Wettstein of Fond du Lac. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends as well as his cats, Snowball & Puff.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Henrietta; two brothers, James (Loraine) Schneider and Harvey (Lorraine) Schneider: and his beloved four-legged companion, Sarge.

A Liturgy Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Our Lady of the Holy Land Parish-St. Cloud Site, 924 Main Street, St. Cloud, WI 53079. Rev. Paul Koenig, OFM Cap will officiate. Inurnment will take place at Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery in Fond du Lac.

Visitation: Family and friends may visit with Hank's family at the church in St. Cloud on Saturday, October 10th from 9:00 AM until 11:15 AM.
