Howard L. "Howie" Brux, age 87 of Brillion, died on Friday, January 17, 2014 ay St. Paul Home in Kaukauna. He was born on April 30, 1927 in Appleton, son of the late Henry & Mary (Wolf) Brux. Howie served in the U.S. Army from 1945-1947. On July 3, 1948 he married Bertha Vande Burgt. He worked for the Menasha Corp. for 41 years and also owned and operated Howie's Bar in St. John. He loved to golf, bowl and work out doors. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion. Survivors include his wife Bertha, 2 daughters, Evelyn (Jim) Johnson and Schila (Dale) De Coursin, a son Gregory Brux and special friend Gail, grandchildren, Mike (Holly) Johnson, Dave Johnson, Rich (Amy) Reinke, Derrick Reinke and special friend Michelle, 6 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren, a sister Helen Ahern, 2 brothers Harvey and Eugene, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Marie Miller, Theresa Eiting, Betty Schroeder, Barb (LaVerne) Steinberg, Martin, Jr. (Mary) Vande Burgt and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and a sister-in-law Leon Brux and Merlin (Marge) Brux, in-laws Adrian (Pat) Vande Burgt, Regina Louison, Jerry Miller, Harvey Schroeder and Margaret Vande Burgt. Memorial mass will be held on Thursday January 23rd at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion. The Rev. Timothy Brandt will officiate.
