Irene M. Nett, 83, of New Holstein died Monday, January 24, 2011 at the Calumet Medical Center in Chilton. The former Irene Haskey was born December 27, 1927 in Fredonia to the late William & Mary Lanser Haskey. Irene graduated from Port Washington High School. On October 1, 1949, she married LaVern Nett at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Fredonia. LaVern preceded her in death on September 1, 1998. Irene was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein and the Christian Women's Society. Survivors include her three daughters, Donna Mueller of Racine, Mary (Don) Thiel of Waukesha and Kathy (Patrick) Thiel of Sun Prairie; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Woelfel-Nett of Chilton; 11 grandchildren, Todd (Lynn) Nett, Brian (Anita) Nett, Jason, Joel and Kate Schoneman, Michelle, Michael and Lauren Thiel, Timothy, William and Bradley Thiel; three great-grandchildren, Danielle and Jonathon Nett and Drew Schoneman; her sister, Rosemary Haskey of Fredonia; her brother, William (Diane) Haskey of Fond du Lac and two sisters-in-law, Romilda Halbach of New Holstein and Cordelia Nett of New Holstein. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, LaVern Nett and her son, Wayne Nett. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, January 28, 2011, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church 1724 Madison Street in New Holstein. Rev. Harold Berryman will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Family and friends may call at the church on Friday from 11:30 AM until the time of services. A Memorial Fund will be established in her name.
