Irene E. Pickart, age 89, of Mount Calvary, passed away peacefully with her family surrounding her at the Villa Loretto Nursing Home in Mount Calvary on Thursday, September 18, 2014.
The former Irene Faul was born February 24, 1925 in Fond du Lac; a daughter of the late Anton Faul Sr. & Anna (Fonferek) Faul.
She attended school at Holy Cross Grade School in Mount Calvary.
On May 30, 1945, she married Harvey Pickart at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mount Calvary. Harvey preceded her in death on November 20, 1992.
Irene had worked at Tecumseh Engine Products in New Holstein, cooked for the St. Lawrence Brother's School and at the Villa Loretto Nursing Home.
She was a member of St. Isidore Parish-Holy Cross Church in Mount Calvary.
Survivors include her 10 children, Eileen Kohlmann of Plymouth, Diane Will of Glenbeulah, Sandy (Craig) Beiser of Fond du Lac, Lou Ann (Marvin) Entringer of Glenbeulah, Mary (Lester) Entringer of Minocqua, Linda (Richard) Braun of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Elsie (John) Wirtz of Plymouth, Gary (Penny) Pickart of Kiel, Ruth (Don) Geiser of Chilton, and Vicky (Tom) Randall of Fond du Lac; a daughter-in-law, Ann Pickart of St. Peter; 26 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren with three more on the way; step-sister, Rosella (Raymond) Siebert of Wayside; sister-in-law, DeeDee Faul of St. Cloud; step-sister-in-law, Gloria Gudex of Ripon; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Anton Sr. & Anna Faul; her husband, Harvey Pickart Sr.; two sons, Harvey Pickart Jr. and Matthew Pickart; a grandson, Zach Pickart; three sisters, Marcella (Dick) Thome, Marie (Bob) Smith, and Lucille (Arnold) Nett; her half brother, Anthony "Tony" Faul; step-sister, Mary (Severin) Ziegelbauer; and two step-brothers, Clarence (Imelda) Gudex and George Gudex.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 27, 2014, at St. Isidore Parish-Holy Cross Church 308 S. County Road W Mount Calvary, WI 53057. Rev. Gary Wegner OFM Cap will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
Family and friends may call on the family at the church Saturday morning September 27th from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM.
