Irene Elizabeth Roffers, age 82, of Brillion, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 in her home, Garrow Villa in Brillion. Irene was born December 24, 1930 in the town of Van Den Broek, daughter of the late Cornelius and Anna (Conrad) Hietpas. She married Norbert H. Roffers, Sr. on June 10, 1952 at St. John Catholic Church in Little Chute. He preceded her in death on November 16, 1995. Norb and Irene worked together for many years building their business, Roffers Roofing and Siding. Besides raising her children, she was employed at the Ariens Company in Brillion for 23 years until she retired in 1995. Her favorite past times included crafts, knitting, jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, music and camping. She loved animals. But mostly she enjoyed the company of family and friends and greeted many with a delightful smile. Irene will be missed by her children Barbara (Neil) McMahon, Beverly (Perry) Alberts, Rose (Kevin) Guthrie, Norbert, Jr. (Carol) Roffers, Steven (Diane) Roffers, Thomas (Amy) Roffers, fourteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren with another one due soon! She is further survived by her sisters: Lois (Clayton) Liebergen, Alice (Leo) Nackers, Sr. Germaine Hietpas O.P. ; brothers: Merlin (Rose Weyenberg) Hietpas, Ken (Irene Wildenberg) Hietpas, Omar Hietpas; brother-in-law Peter Van Dera; sister-in-laws Jenny Roffers and Dorothy Roffers and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Paul (Margaret Opsteen) Hietpas, Roger (Pat Opsteen) Hietpas, Eugene (Susan Jury) Hietpas, a sister Elaine (Peter) VanDera, an infant brother Vernon Hietpas and a sister-in-law Shirley (McCabe) Hietpas. Funeral Mass will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1100 W. Ryan St., Brillion. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Timothy Brandt. Interment will be in Holy Family Parish Cemetery in Brillion.
