Irene Rose Stephanie, age 90, of Fond du Lac, passed away Sunday, December 21, 2025, at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home where she has resided since October of 2016.

She was born March 29, 1935, in the Town of Marshfield near St. Joe to Fredrich & Martha (Braun) Stephanie. Irene attended St. Joseph Catholic Grade School in St. Joe.

Irene grew up on the family farm in St. Joe. That is where she formed her love connection with animals, especially with her former dogs, Pal & Brownie.

Irene moved to a community home in Fond du Lac and was employed with National Exchange Bank.

Irene's love of music included dancing to Polka songs and singing in the Very Special Arts Wisconsin Choir, which sang for the inauguration of Gov. Thompson and the Wisconsin-Indiana Big 10 Game at Camp Randall Stadium.

She loved to go out on outings such as holiday party gatherings and also a one-time Carnival Cruise. Irene enjoyed putting together puzzles and spending time with her family. She was very fond of chocolates and anything sweet.

Those left behind to cherish her memory include her two sisters, Mary Freund of Fond du Lac and Virginia Steffen of Fond du Lac; her brother-in-law, Leo Goebel of Fond du Lac; her sister-in-law, Becky Stephanie of Nebraska. Irene is also survived by numerous nieces & nephews; and great nieces and great nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Fredrich & Martha Stephanie; two brothers, Ralph Stephanie and Anthony (Julie) Stephanie; two sisters, Rosaline (Orville) Ziegelbauer and Alfrieda Goebel; and two brothers-in-law, Eugene Steffen and Melvin Freund.

A Liturgy Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Our Lady of the Holyland Parish-St. Joseph Site, W620 County Road G, St. Cloud, WI 53079. Rev. Paul Koenig, OFM Cap will officiate. Irene will be laid to rest in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery following the Mass.

Visitation: Family and friends may visit with Irene's family at the Sippel Funeral Home, 1311 Thorp Street, St. Cloud, WI on Monday, December 29th from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM.
