Obituary

Jack L. Steffen, age 87, of rural St. Cloud "St. Joe", passed away with his family at his side on Friday, July 4, 2025, at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.

He was born September 21, 1937, to Arthur & Anna Marie (Klapperich) Steffen.

On November 16, 1963, he married Teresa Buechel at St. Peter's Catholic Church in St. Peter. Teresa preceded him in death on September 27, 2011.

Jack was employed at the former Tecumseh Engine Products in New Holstein for 44 years. He retired in 1999.

He was a member of Our Lady of the Holyland Parish-St. Joseph Site in St. Joe.

Survivors include his four children, Randall (Betty) Steffen of New Holstein, Gary Steffen of Arlington, VA, Chris (Kevin) Fuhrmann of rural St. Cloud "St. Joe", and Kay (David) Diederich of rural St. Cloud; six grandchildren, Ryan (Sami) Steffen, Travis Steffen (special friend, Katie), Jackie (Kevin) Merten, Greg Fuhrmann (fiancée, Sadie), Mitchell Diederich (special friend, Rachel) and Maddy Diederich; four great-grandchildren, Evanne & Avery Steffen, Connor Mains, and Koleton Fuhrmann; his sister, Dolores Schmitz of New Holstein; his sisters-in-law, Virginia Steffen of St. Cloud, Joan Steffes of Mount Calvary, Diana Abler of Chilton, Joyce (Ron) VerHaagh of Fond du Lac, Janet Buechel of Fond du Lac, and Betty Buechel of St. Peter; his step brother-in-law, David (Karen) Tetzke. He is further survived by nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Teresa, son-in-law, Alex Steffen; his parents, Arthur & Anna Marie Steffen; his brothers, Eugene & Jerry Steffen; his father-in-law & mother-in-law, Herman Sr. Buechel and his wives, Ludvina and Lucille; brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, Eugene Schmitz, Donald Steffes, Herman Buechel, Allen Buechel, Donald Abler, Betty Lou (Lester) Stephanie, and Marilyn (Roger) Schneider.

A Liturgy Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Our Lady of the Holyland Parish-St. Joseph Site, W620 County Road G, St. Cloud, WI 53079. Rev. Paul Koenig, OFM Cap & Rev. Oliver Bambenek, OFM Cap will concelebrate. Jack will be laid to rest next to his wife, Teresa, in the church cemetery.

Visitation: Family and friends may visit with Jack's family at the Sippel Funeral Home, 1311 Thorp Street, St. Cloud, WI on Saturday, July 12th from 8:30 AM until 11:30 AM.
