James E. Pieper, age 71, of New Holstein passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at his home following a short battle with cancer.
Jim was born June 11, 1947, to the late Harvey & Thelma (Morgan) Pieper. He graduated from New Holstein High School in 1965. Jim served in the US Army from 1966 until 1968, serving one year in Vietnam.
On November 23, 1968, he married Mary Muellenbach at St. Cloud Catholic in St. Cloud.
He worked at Tecumseh Engine Products until his retirement in 1990.
Jim is survived by his wife of almost 50 years of marriage, Mary; his two children, Thomas (Sharon) Pieper of New Holstein and Tammy (Steve) Stark of Kiel; four grandchildren, Kyle Pieper, Tyler Lechler, Brady Stark, and Carter Stark; his brother, Bob (Darlene) Pieper of New Holstein; his brother-in-law, Bob (Kathy) Muellenbach of St. Cloud; his sister-in-law, Lori (Brian) Engler of Fond du Lac. He is further survived by nieces; nephews; other relatives, and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Harvey & Thelma Pieper; a grandson, Cody Lechler; a sister, Barbara Wendling; his father-in-law & mother-in-law, Orville & Ann Muellenbach; and a sister-in-law, Betty Coffeen.
Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at the Sippel Funeral Home, 2618 Altona Ave. New Holstein, WI 53061. Rev. Gary Wegner, OFM Cap will preside.
Visitation: Family and friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 PM until 6:45 PM.
Jim's family would like to express their heart-felt appreciation to a special friend, Pauline Eldred and many other friends, family, and the hospice caregivers that comforted him as well as the family during his time of need.
