James A. Roehrig, age 78, of New Holstein died Sunday February 27, 2022 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Appleton after a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was born October 12, 1943 to the late Edmund & Lucille (Nett) Roehrig. Jim attended St. Mary's Catholic Grade School in Marytown and graduated from New Holstein High School in 1962. On Sept 18, 1965 he married Rita Meyer at St John the Baptist Catholic Church, Johnsburg. A big part of his life was being a proud member of the New Holstein Fire Department for 38 years. He served as their Chief at the later part of that time. He was a member of the Calumet County Fire Chiefs Association and the Calumet County Fire Investigators Association. He was also a member of Holy Rosary Church, the Holy Name Society, and the Knights of Columbus. Jim is survived by his loving wife, Rita; his sons Paul, Brian and Steve (Tricia) and grandchildren Parker and Cooper. He is also survived by his siblings, Joseph (Mary Ann), Jerome, JoAnn Werdeo, John (Linda), Jerrold, and Janet (Tom) Mueller; his brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, David (Bea) Meyer, Jane (Jim) Schmitz, Rosie (Dave) Kreisman, Therese (Rick) Petrie, and Joe (LuAnn) Meyer; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; brother-in-law, Dan Werdeo; mother-in-law and father-in-law Robert and Alfrieda Meyer; brother-law, Robert Petrie and nephew, Todd Petrie. A Liturgy Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1724 Madison Street New Holstein, WI 53061. Visitation: Family and friends may visit with Jim's family at Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Thursday, March 3rd from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM.
