Janet A. (Schwind) Sippel, age 87, formerly of rural St. Cloud (Town of Forest), most recently of Mount Calvary, passed away Friday, June 27, 2025, at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.
She was born December 7, 1937, at Plymouth Hospital to John Sr. & Margaret (Scott) Schwind. Janet graduated from Glenbeulah High School in 1955.
On June 16, 1956, she married Cletus Sippel at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Armstrong. Cletus preceded her in death on March 15, 2022.
In addition to help run the family farm, Janet sold Home Interiors for several years and later on, worked at Nazareth Heights and the St. Francis Home in Fond du Lac.
Janet was a member of Our Lady of the Holyland Parsih-St. Cloud Site, the Christian Women's Society, former member of the Farm Bureau, and a 4-H leader in the Holyland area for over 25 years.
Survivors include her four children, Jeanmarie (Mark) Werner of Fond du Lac, Kevin (Jennifer) Sippel of New Holstein, Craig (Kim) Sippel of Mount Calvary, and Michele "Shelly" (Andy) Merten of rural St. Cloud; her grandchildren, Justin (Victoria) Werner, Erin (Tyler) Knipple, Rebecca (Cordell) Wittgreve, stepgrandchildren, Rachel (Jeremy) Fischer, William (Alyssa) Ebert, Timoth Ebert, grandchildren, Jessica (Nick) Steiner, Mitchel Sippel, Heather (John) Thompson, and Ashley Merten; great grandchildren, Winstyn, Knox, and Navy Werner, Arlo, Ida, and Iris Knipple, step great grandchildren, Ashton, Elizabeth, and Dalton Fischer, Bryce, Brendon, Clayton, Tyler, Ryan, Meagan, Ian, Katie, Erik, and Emma Ebert, Alexandr, Mathew, and Eliza Ebert, great grandchildren, Alexander and Kennedy Steiner, Eli Taylor, and Connor Thompson; her brother-in-law, Leroy Sippel; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Cletus; her parents, John Sr. & Margaret Schwind; her siblings, Mary Lou Myer-Burbach (Ronald Myer & Richard Burbach), John Jr. (Barbara) Schwind, Jerome (Virginia) Schwind, and James Schwind; her father-in-law & mother-in-law, Albert & Louise Sippel; brothers-in-law, Edward (Bernice) Sippel, Ambrose (Helen) Sippel, Alphonse (Virginia) Sippel, and Rev. Bernard Sippel; and a sister-in-law, Rawleen Sippel.
A Liturgy Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Our Lady of the Holyland Parish-Holy Cross Site, 308 S. County Road W, Mount Calvary, WI 53057. Rev. Paul Koenig will officiate. Janet will be laid to rest next to her husband, Cletus, in the St. Cloud Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation: Family and friends may visit with Janet's family at the church in Mount Calvary on Wednesday morning, July 16th from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for the St. Agnes Hospital Foundation Hospice Home of Hope or NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) of Fond du Lac.
