Janice K. Bub, age 74, of rural Chilton, passed away Monday, January 18, 2016, at the Atrium Post Acute Care Center of Chilton, with her family at her side.
The former Janice Stange was born November 24, 1941 to the late Clarence & Alice (Horneck) Stange. Janice attended grade school at Rhine Center Elementary and graduated from Elkhart Lake High School in 1959.
On October1, 1960, she married Henry Bub at St. Peter's Evangelical Church in Rhine Center.
Janice and her family farmed in the Town of Brothertown in Calumet County. She owned and operated the East Shore Inn for 15 years which involved taking visitors on tours of the family farm showing them the daily operations of a dairy farm. She took great pleasure in involving her whole family, including her grandchildren, in offering the tours to many interested families, some from as far away as Africa, China, India, England, Russia, Central America and several other countries.
She was involved in the creation of the Calumet County Tourism Association. She held the office of president for several years.
Janice was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Malone where she also belonged to the Women's Guild and served as the social director, setting up many trips for the church members. She loved her church family and was a source of support for many. She also was a member of the Red Hat Society. Janice had a love of animals, especially horses, and gardening. She grew many flowers, house plants and vegetables with Henry helping along.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Henry; her three children, Neil (Karen) Bub of Chilton, Brian Bub of Malone and Cheryl (Roy) Hephner of Chilton; three grandchildren, Claire, Blythe and Riley Hephner. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, in-law's, other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Clarence & Alice Stange: her brother, Roger (Marie "Mia") Stange and a niece, Amy Stange.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 23, 2016, at the Sippel Funeral Home 2618 Altona Avenue New Holstein, WI 53061. Rev. Gary Miller will officiate. Inurnment will be at the Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Kohler.
Visitation: Family and friends may call at the Sippel Funeral Home in New Holstein on Friday, January 22nd from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again at the funeral home Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of services.
