Janine K. Maloney, age 87, of New Holstein, passed away Friday, March 12, 2021, at the Homestead Care Center in New Holstein.
She was born February 22, 1934, in Green Bay to Elaine (Shaw) Weaver. Janine graduated from De Pere High School in 1951. On October 26, 1984, she married Aelred Maloney. Janine and Al made their home in Oconto Falls, where they enjoyed gardening and had a RV which took them to various military camps during the winter months.
Janine worked as a nurse's aide at Calumet Memorial Hospital in Chilton and at the Calumet Homestead in New Holstein.
She was very active at St. John United Church of Christ in New Holstein; serving on the Women's Fellowship, singing in the choir, greeting visitors, and volunteering wherever needed. She was also a volunteer at the Homestead Care Center till covid. She was someone that was always there when needed.
Janine is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Michael) Freund; her grandchildren, Michael D. (Cindy) Freund, Laura Freund (special friend, Steve), and Stacey (Joel) Vernon; her great-grandchildren, Amber Freund, Justin Freund, Scott Freund, Alexis (Taylor) Lorbecki, Johanna Bullock, Brad (Felicia) Tinker, Abby Baumann, Luke Baumann, Mollie Meyer, Maustin Meyer, and Jack Vernon; her great-great-grandchild, Landon Lefeber; her brother, Darol E. Weaver; her sister, Donna (Bob) Benzschawel; her special friends & cousins, Margaret Doss, Sue Snethen, and Jack (Janet) Schultz; who were like sister & brother; and her cat, Glory.
Preceding her in death were her mother, Elaine; her husband, Al Maloney; her son, Scott Stearns; and her brother, Ron Weaver.
Private services were held with family with Rev. Michael Safford Kennedy presiding. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
