Jason C.
Goebel
Jun 30, 1977 — Feb 18, 2023
Jason C. Goebel, age 45, of St. Cloud, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2023, at the Sharon S. Richardson Hospice in Sheboygan Falls.
He was born June 30, 1977, at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital to Beverly (Hass) Goebel and the late Jeffrey Goebel.
Jason attended the CPES schools and graduated from New Holstein High School. He served for many weekend masses at St. Cloud Catholic Church; sometimes on Saturday as well as Sunday on the same weekend.
When Jason was growing up, his Grandpa Goebel took him and his cousin Nick golfing every day during the summer. He achieved his first hole-in-one with the two of them at Crystal Lake Golf Course. In addition to fishing, Jason loved to hunt, especially pheasant, squirrel, rabbit, as well as deer. Jason played baseball throughout his childhood as well as in high school and the men's league on Thursday nights in St. Cloud. He also played basketball in his childhood years.
Jason was a former member of the St. Cloud Athletic Club and Riverside Hunting & Fishing. He loved to fish; there were many fishing walleye tournaments he participated in along with his partner, Steve "Jr" Goebel. In 2002, Jason along with Chad Weber & Corey Weber purchased and remodeled what became known as Fat Boys Tavern in St. Cloud. In addition to part ownership of the tavern, Jason was a carpenter; a trade that his Grandpa Goebel began to show him. He was most recently employed with Quasius Construction.
Survivors include his mom, Bev; his aunts & uncles, Sharon Hoehl, Ron (Pat) Hass, Jim (Sue) Hass, Nancy (Rich) Halfmann, and Lori Ann (Ken) Stemper; many cousins; other relatives; and numerous friends.
Preceding him in death were his father, Jef; his maternal grandparents, Ray & Evelyn Hass; his paternal grandparents, Clarence & Vera Goebel; two uncles, Robert Goebel and Gerald Hoehl.
