Jean A. Escher, 74, of New Holstein died unexpectedly Monday, April 12, 2010 in Appleton.
The former Jean Kopf was born June 13, 1935 in Chilton to the late Joseph & Bertha Steffes Kopf. She graduated from Chilton High School in 1954.
On April 28, 1956 she married Ronald Escher at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chilton.
Jean had worked at the former Schultz and Ben Franklin Dept. Store in New Holstein and was currently working at Stell's Piggly Wiggly in New Holstein.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein and the Daughters of Isabella.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald of New Holstein; two daughters, Cheryl Escher of Sheboygan and Doreen Escher of New Holstein and a brother, Arthur (Joyce) Kopf of Chilton.
Preceding her in death were her parents; a daughter, Anna; two sons, Gary and Dale Escher and three sisters, Edwina Gasch, Frances Weinreis and Clara Lintner.
A Mass of Christina Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 16, 2010 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church 1724 Madison Street New Holstein. Rev. Harold Berryman, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Family and friends may call at the Sippel Funeral Home 2618 Altona Avenue in New Holstein on Thursday, April 15th from 4-8 PM and again at the funeral home Friday morning from 9-10:30 AM when brief family rites will be held at the funeral home.
A prayer service will be held at the funeral home Thursday evening at 7:45 PM.
