Obituary

Jellane Virginia Blatz, 83 of New Holstein, passed away September 7, 2025, from complications of a motor vehicle accident. Born April 19, 1942, to Ruth Wiedemeyer and Martin Stroschoen.

She graduated from Valders High School in 1960 and married Robert Blatz June10, 1961, at Holy Rosary Church in New Holstein. Bob proceeded her in death August 22, 2008.

During her life she was a waitress at Leons, a farmer's wife, worked at the Salvatorian Center, Schmidt's Clothing and a teacher's aide for CESA at New Holstein Elementary.

The most important thing to her were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Kevin "Blato" (Sandy) and Michelle Blatz. She was again blessed with two grandchildren, Cassandra (Sid) Kirschbaum and Brandon (Allison) Blatz. Then another blessing with two great-grandsons, Roland Robert and Kolby Sal Kirschbaum and baby girl Blatz due in January.

Living in the same community gave her the opportunity to attend all the grandkids' activities. She belonged to Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Chilton and sang in the choir.

She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, TV, playing cards, dominos, and spending time with her brother and his family and especially being at Copper Peak with her sister and her family. She loved decorating her home for all the holidays.

She is survived by her children Kevin "Blato" (Sandy) Blatz, Michelle Blatz, grandchildren Cassandra (Sid) Kirschbaum, their children Roland Robert and Kolby Sal, Brandon (Allison) Blatz and their baby due January 2026, Godson Kevin (Kris) Petrie. Her brother Randy (Gerry) Schwoerer and their family, her sister Shirley (Bob) Guenther and their family, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, his parents Norbert and Mildred Blatz, her father, Martin (Audry) Strohschoen, her mother Ruth Lenz and stepfathers Florian Schwoerer and Herbert Lenz, nephew Jonathon Schwoerer and niece Kristina Johnson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 62 E. Main Street, Chilton, WI 53014 with Rev. Jon Thorsen officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Bob, at St. Martin's Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Sippel Funeral Home 2618 Altona Avenue, New Holstein, WI 53061 on Thursday September 11, 2025, from 4-7 pm with a vigil service at 7:00 pm. Visitation will also be on Friday September 12, 2025, from 9-10 am at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
