Obituary

Jerome "Jerry" A. Braun, age 74, of rural New Holstein "St. Anna" passed away peacefully Thursday, September 1, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. Jerry was born March 23, 1942, on his parent's farm near Calvary Station in the Town of Marshfield to Al & Sally (Laudolff) Braun. He attended Holy Cross Catholic School in Mount Calvary. Jerry graduated from New Holstein High School in 1960 where he was very active in FFA. He served his apprenticeship in the Tool & Die Department at Tecumseh Engine Products while obtaining his Journeyman's Card from Moraine Park Technical College. He worked for Tecumseh for 43 years before retiring in 2003. On April 25, 1964, he married Sue Kramer at Our Lady of Angel's Catholic Church in Armstrong. Jerry had a passion for working and was a skilled toolmaker. Jerry enjoyed woodworking, bowling, long walks, bike riding, and staying active in the outdoors. In his younger days, he enjoyed snowmobiling as well as playing volleyball and basketball on several leagues. He especially enjoyed playing sheepshead with friends and family at any opportunity. He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in St. Anna. Jerry was a former member of the St. Anna Volunteer Fire Department where he also served as the parade chairman for many years. Survivors include his wife, Sue of St. Anna; his four children, Timothy (Linda) Braun of Elkhorn, Sharon (Tom) Pluim of Waupun, Daniel (Dee Dee) Braun of Van Dyne and Jason (Jenny) Braun of Yorkville, WI; his nine grandchildren, Danielle & Nicholas Braun, Danyel (Steven) Krueger, Janell (Dustin) Deming, Shelby & Shayla Braun, Jack, Olivia and Molly Braun; his sisters and brother, Anne (Frank) Kramer of Fond du Lac, Pat (Milt) Dilling of Milwaukee and Bob (Mary) Braun of Fond du Lac; his brother-in-law, Jim Mueller of St. Cloud and his fiance', Audrey; and his sister-in-law, Sandi (Bob) Roehrig of St. Peter. Jerry is further survived by his wife's family, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceding Jerry in death were his beloved son, Ron; his parents, Al & Sally Braun; his brother, Joe Braun and his sister, Mary Mueller. Funeral Services will be held at 6:00 PM on Sunday, September 4, 2016, at the Sippel Funeral Home, 2618 Altona Avenue, New Holstein, WI 53061. Jerry will be laid to rest next to his son, Ron, in the St. Ann Catholic Cemetery. Visitation: Family and friends may call at the funeral home in New Holstein on Sunday, September 4th from 2:00 PM until 5:45 PM. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in his name.
