Jerome L. Baus, 85, of Fond du Lac, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at the Villa Loretto Nursing Home in Mount Calvary.
He was born April 17, 1930, in Armstrong to the late Leo & Lucy (Loehr) Baus. On June 13, 1953, he married Rosemary Kraus at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mount Calvary.
Jerome farmed near Mount Calvary until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing sheepshead, woodworking and spending time with his family.
He was a member of St. Isidore Parish-Holy Cross Church in Mount Calvary and the St. Anthony Society.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemary; his five children, Jim (Jean) Baus of Mount Calvary, Ron (Mary) Baus of Mount Calvary, Roseann (Ken) Sabel of Mount Calvary, Catherine Stahmann and her fiance', Jim of Van Dyne and Joe Baus of Mount Calvary; 12 grandchildren, Becky Baus, Travis (Erin) Baus, Jason (Diana) Baus, Stephanie Baus, Jacob Baus, Scott Sabel & friend Johanna, Kris (Joe) Schroeder, Bob (Ashley) Sabel, Katie Sabel, Steve (Laura Lee) Stahmann, Stan Stahmann & friend, Marissa and Scott Jr. Stahmann & friend, Bri; nine great-grandchildren with the tenth one due this month; brother, Anthony (Lily Mae) Baus of Fond du Lac; sisters, Anna (Joe) Schaefer and Cecelia Petrie both of Glenbeulah and four sisters-in-law, Verna (Carl) Welsch of Plymouth, Laurina Schumacher of Fond du Lac, Betty Kraus of Marytown and Joan Freund of New Holstein.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Leo & Lucy Baus; a granddaughter, Angela Baus; brother, Leo D. Baus; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Edward & Anna Kraus; six brothers-in-law, Francis Petrie, William Wergin, Benno Kraus, Melvin (Alma) Kraus, Wilmer Freund and Francis Schumacher and a sister-in-law, Loretta (Leo) Morgan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 12, 2015, at St. Isidore Parish-Holy Cross Church 308 S. County Road W Mount Calvary, WI 53057. Rev. Gary Wegner, OFM Cap will officiate. Entombment will be at the Shrine of Rest Chapel Mausoleum at Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery in Fond du Lac.
Visitation: Family and friends may call at the church in Mount Calvary Saturday morning, December 12th from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM.
