Jerome H. Freund, age 78, of Malone "Johnsburg", died Tuesday, April 09, 2013.
He was born April 23, 1934 in the town of Brothertown to the late Leo & Amanda (Koenigs) Freund.
He attended St. John's Catholic School in Johnsburg and graduated from Chilton High School in 1953.
On May 14, 1955, he married Donna Schmitz at St. Peter's Catholic Church in St. Peter.
Jerome farmed in the Town of Calumet for 58 years.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg and the Holy Name Society. He was a retired member of the Calumet Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife, Donna, of Malone "Johnsburg"; his 12 children, Jeri Anne (Alan) Kraus of Malone, Barbara Wirkus (special friend Keith) of Kernersville, NC, Andrew (Patti) Freund of Chilton, Paul Freund of Katzenbach, Germany, Mark (Lisa) Freund of Wauwatosa, Mary Rose (David) Neumann of Malone, Stephen (Lynn) Freund of Howards Grove, Nicholas (Dr. Marian) Freund of Mt. Calvary, Matthew (Ann) Freund of New Holstein, Helen Jean (Brian) Mott of Rubicon, Julie (Kevin) Budde of Fond du Lac, James (Tracy) Freund of Elmhurst, Il.; 29 grandchildren, AJ (Jen), Amanda (Joe), Lucas (Melissa), Nathan, Kyle, Jeremy (Angie), Christopher (Tracy), Jeffrey, Brian (Brittany), Noah, Veronica, David (Vicki), Katie, Timothy, Stephanie, Amy, Zachary, Ashley, Leo, Rose, Mitchell, Morgan, McKenzie, Maxwell, Meghan, Jarod, Aidan, Ellen, and Tara; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ronald (Marian) Freund of Glenbeulah; sister-in-law, Joan Freund of New Holstein; brother-in-law, Joe (Karen) Schmitz of Lake Chapala, Mexico. He is further survived by many relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Leo & Amanda Freund; brother, Wilmer Freund; sister-in-law, Betty Freund; and Father & Mother-in-law, Gilbert & Crescentia Schmitz.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 12:00 PM (noon) on Friday, April 12, 2013 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church N9288 Hwy W Fond du Lac "Johnsburg" with the Rev. Joseph Coerber officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Family and friends may call at the church on Friday morning from 10:00-11:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial funds will be established for the Calumet Fire Department and the Villa Loretto Nursing Home.
